Composting is a slow but, when given the time, extremely efficient process ... after 5 years of solid toilet waste composting, only 1-3% remains ! See diagram below.

Our process is the original Enclosed Long-term Composting which requires a volume of around three times the yearly addition of solids (dark blue field) in order to perform as shown below. Any attempt to make the system smaller will result in significantly increased maintenance and instability of processing.
However, with the proper sizing, the process allows a Clivus Multrum to be used up to 30 years before emptying of solids is needed.
